The access to a quality education is a universal right, and reliable assessments are fundamental in perfecting education policy and learning opportunities for all people. For this reason UNESCO, through its Regional Bureau of Education for Latin America and the Caribbean (OREALC/UNESCO Santiago), works in coordination with the countries of the region in the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE).
